2006年 制药厂商Watson Pharmaceuticals决定以大约19亿美元收购Andrx，以壮大其非专利药(generic drug)业务，在迅速整合的产业中与较大的对手并驾齐驱。
　　Watson表示，上述并购将使其成为美国第三大非专利药厂商。它将以每股25美元的价格收购Andrx，较过去30天Andrx的平均股价溢价32%。预计上述交易将增加其2007年获利。
　　合并后的公司将拥有超过60项非专利药的申请。Watson表示，预计今年将推出8种或更多新药。
2013年Watson Pharmaceuticals更名为Actavis
