Aerodyne Research, Inc. (ARI) has provided research and development (R&D) services to commercial and government clients working to solve national and international problems since 1970. Our R&D staff is organized into six technology centers which address a wide range of topics requiring expertise in the physical and engineering sciences. These include such critical issues as global and regional environmental quality and development of clean and efficient energy and propulsion technologies. We design, build and utilize remote sensing, surveillance, image processing, tracking and recognition systems for commercial and environmental applications and the national defense. We also develop and characterize advanced materials, processes, and devices for electronic, electro-optical, environmental and energy applications.
Teams of scientists and engineers perform laboratory and theoretical studies, computer modeling and simulation, field evaluations and measurements, advanced systems analyses, and hardware and software development. We also offer computer simulation codes, specialized electro-optical components, and electro-optical monitoring instruments to clients engaged in research, development and high technology production.
ARI occupies a combined laboratory and office building in Billerica, Massachusetts, 20 miles northwest of Boston, where we maintain state-of-the-art experimental and computational facilities to support our research capabilities.
ARI STAFF
Two thirds of our staff of fifty hold advanced degrees in the fields of physics, chemistry, geophysical sciences, mathematics, computer science, and chemical, electrical, mechanical and aeronautical engineering. We often collaborate with colleagues from universities, government laboratories, and industrial laboratories. Using this network, we draw together specialists and facilities not available in individual organizations to meet demanding technical challenges. Joint projects with leading universities frequently give us an opportunity to contribute to the educational process both on site and at area campuses. Our scientists and engineers are also active in professional and technical societies. They regularly participate in technical seminars, meetings and symposia and publish dozens of journal articles and symposium papers each year.
A dedicated staff of support professionals provides all of the services necessary for successful program performance, including technical document preparation, laboratory apparatus fabrication and maintenance, instrument assembly and testing, technical information searches, contracting expertise and project management support.
