DongWoo Optron is an optical science and technology company. 
Its core expertise is in the field of spectroscopic science and technology, where it has been increasing its commitment to research and the development of new products.
DongWoo Optron was established in 1989 under the name of DongWoo Trading. 
DongWoo Trading had previously supplied state-of-th-art optical products to customers in Korea. In 1998, DongWoo moved into research and development with the development of its own spectrometers. DongWoo Trading was renamed DongWoo Optron in 1999, and has concentrated its efforts on the research, development, and supply of spectroscopic instruments and accessories since that time.
Seeing the global importance of spectroscopic instrumentation, DongWoo Optron started global sales in 2003, reaching its goal of 110 sets in the first year.
