LifeNet Health始建于1982年，其使命是“拯救生命，重建健康”，它是全美最大口碑最好的非盈利医用组织库。目前，LifeNet Health拥有资产1亿两千万美金，有超过500个雇员，有6个职能部门：生物植入分部、移植服务分部、LifeNet Health基金、组织服务分部、国际分部、佛罗里达分部，在全美有59个OPO（组织器官采集机构）为其提供组织器官材料。LifeNet Health有完善的组织器官捐献的社区教育中心，该中心负责告诉捐献者为什么要捐献遗体；有一个专作血清学检查的实验室，对有意捐献遗体的志愿者进行供体筛选，以明确供体是否合格；有1天24小时运作的电话服务中心，工作人员通过电话了解志愿者的医疗病史及行为病史把握供体进入关，对志愿者进行初步的供体筛选，美国《联邦法》也规定各医院应对LifeNet Health话务中心无偿提供捐献者病史；有比医院手术室更洁净的组织产品制作室；同时，它有完善的质量控制系统监控组织产品制作的各个环节。通过25年来科学规范的运行，LifeNet Health成为最早被美国组织库协会认证，连续认证时间最长的医用组织库。
