TVI的彩色线扫描相机通过一个分光棱镜来确保三种颜色（红、绿、蓝）的极好分离，每种信号的光谱分布都是标准化的。3个线CCD可确保棱镜的各颜色输出端口能够独立地探测红、绿、蓝信号。相机有3X512~3X4096像素分辨率，其中512像素模式输出线速度能达到65K线/秒。
I/O端可接多种图像采集卡或根据特殊要求选择的特殊板卡。XIIMUS系列相机配有简单易用的配置软件，可通过RS-232端口和Camera Link端口使用，高达60项产品应用的特性配置可被保存到存储器。XIIMUS系列相机可随时对相机内部电压和温度进行监控。通过查看相机后部的LED灯或者读取相机状态显示可观察到相机温度的变化。
